Online Trading Academy

Online Trading Academy’s roots can be traced back to 1997, as one of the largest trading floors in the U.S., with 180 traders averaging half a billion dollars in daily transactions. To improve results, managers and the top traders offered daily coaching sessions in how to trade more consistently and profitably.

In 2001, we shifted our focus to solely providing education. Today we have a community of investors who have the tools they need to learn to trade with the skill and confidence of professional traders.

John O’Donnell

John O’Donnell came to Online Trading Academy in early 1998. As one of the first employees and pioneers in the education division, he helped transition the company from a floor based model to the largest global DMA franchisor trading/investing school currently operated today. Mr. O’Donnell is instrumental in Online Trading Academy’s extensive business development initiatives with strategic partners and industry leaders. As Director of Research, he delivers a combination of educational and corporate experience that has been instrumental in making Online Trading Academy one of the premier trading schools in the world. His extensive management and consulting experience has been a key ingredient in Online Trading Academy’s fast global growth and industry recognition and awards.

John is known for his focus and thoughts on issues such as historic boom/bust business cycles and the potential coming burst of the credit bubble in the “Globalization 3.0 Era.” His background in both education and financial services gives him a unique ability to teach complex financial theories and trading skills to beginner investors and seasoned traders alike.

David Warner

David Warner grew up a stone’s throw from New York’s financial district, and knew from an early age he wanted to become a trader. He started trading in 2004 and joined a stock trading club in college, leading to what he calls a “healthy obsession” with the financial markets.

David developed a focused and disciplined attitude in the Air Force, where he was not only the most awarded Airman on his base but also a trainer and educator. After leaving the service he became a broker at a Forex broker, where he managed relationships with top-level clients and institutions. He joined us as an Education Counselor in 2013, and swiftly distinguished himself for his ability to match students’ needs with their learning opportunities.
